We are made right with God by Faith not Works, Not our accomplishiments or rule keeping. No its by faith. We need to change our perspective and look at this relationship differently. We need to look at like God does. You see this relationship is not about what we do at all. It’s all about what he has already done.

As we continue our series on “How God Meets Our Deepest Needs,” I want to talk today about “How God Heals Your Hidden Wounds.” Not the physical, but the hidden wounds. Hidden wounds are the memories that still hurt, those recollections from your past that when you think about those things they still cause pain in your life. Memories of abandonment. Some of you have memories of abuse. Some of you have memories of ridicule, severe criticism or hatred or prejudice that just tore you down – physical abuse, spiritual, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse.

We all have things and needs we don’t understand the why. We all need a Big Picture perspective. We all need to be able to stand back and take a look and see that God has always been up to your good and He is FOR YOU!

Is there hope? That is one of the fundamental questions of life. Is life worth living? Is there hope? Can I count on anything in life? Is there hope? It is asked everyday by thousands of people in thousands of different ways. When you are setting in the doctor’s office awaiting tests, you hear the question, “Is there hope?” When you are standing by the bedside at the hospital, you hear the question, “Is there hope?” When a couple who have put months and months into marriage counselors sitting there and getting nowhere, they are thinking in their minds, “Is there hope?” When you are dealing with a tax accountant in a bankruptcy court and you ask, “Is there hope?” When a couple or a family hears that their child is missing, they ask the police, “Is there hope?”

You can go forty days without food and three days without water and you can go eight minutes without air. But you cannot go a single second without hope. Hope is one of the essentials of life. When hope is gone, life is over. You need hope to cope.

We have looked at some biblical truths that, if you will receive them and live by them, will revolutionize your life for all eternity. So where do we go from here?God wants you to be just like Jesus. He wants you to have a heart just like His! How you live your Christian life is your choice! No one else can make that choice, and no one else is the cause for you living the way you do! You may make the excuses and blame others for your walk with God, but in the end the choice is absolutely and totally up to you and you alone!
