What is Salvation
It’s personal commitment to a relationship with God. With our acceptance and belief in God comes an incredible life-altering gift: Salvation from our sin.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and its is with your mouth that you profess your faith and you are saved.
For, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:9,13
I decided to follow Jesus, what do I do next?
In Matthew 28:18-20, we read about the mission Jesus gave his disciples. Christians today call it the Great Commission.
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
With all authority on heaven and earth, Jesus commands us to be baptized and to baptize others.
