Mountain Grove Life Groups
What are Life Groups?
Life Groups are made up of 10-12 people who meet weekly or every other week, in homes to love, learn, and grow together for a season. Life Groups use a curriculum based on the previous mornings message. A trained Host leads each group. A typical meeting lasts two hours and includes light refreshments, discussion, and prayer. No homework is required.
Why use the Sermon-based format?
This new format enhances the effectiveness of the large group worship experience by building a discussion around application of the weekly message. Imagine an entire congregation or body that is focused on one BIG IDEA. The power of unity has the potential to not only change individual lives but the heart of a congregation as well.
Who are these groups for?
They are for anyone who wants to learn more about the Sunday message topic and text through Bible study and application in the context of a group. Because of the practical and relational nature of these studies, it works well for both new and mature Christ followers alike or as an excellent introduction to Christianity for a spiritual seeker.
When and where do the groups meet?
Life Groups meet on various days and nights of the week in homes throughout the community. Contact the Life Group Pastor for more detailed information about meeting locations and times.

What is the required commitment?
Joining a Life group requires a ten-week commitment to attend the weekly or every other week meetings. This commitment is the key to strong relationships and healthy groups. At the end of each 10-week session, participants have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group, or taking a break. There are (3) 10-week sessions in a year, with breaks between and during the summer.
Is childcare provided?
The church does not provide childcare. Each family is to work out their own arrangements. Families may want to share a sitter or to swap childcare with a family whose group meets on a different night/day.
Which Group Should I Join?
We suggest you join a group based on your “station in life” rather than on geography or the most convenient night of the week. We’ve found that a group works best when you share common interests, backgrounds, marital status or similar aged children. Frankly, sometimes it might take two or three groups before you find the perfect fit. But don’t worry, you’ll find it!
How Do I Sign Up?
Church wide sign‑ups begin at the start of each new session (in September, January, and March). You can also sign up before or after any weekend worship service or by calling the church office. Our pastors and staff will be happy to help you find just the right group for you. Those who are new to the church (start attending in the middle of a session) can sign up and join any group that has openings without waiting for the start of a new session.
